How to Make a Logo of a Company for Under $50

Aug 10, 2020 | 0 comments

Starting and running your own business comes with so many little details.

  • Who’s my target audience?

  • What’s my USP?
  • What’s my brand voice?

  • How do I make a professional website?

  • Do I need a professional logo?

Of all the questions running through your business brain, the professional logo question tends to get way more thought than necessary.

Firstly, You Don’t Really Need a Logo

When starting a business, coming up with a name is often the hardest part. And for some reason, the next step most people jump to is designing a logo.

Speaking from experience, designing a logo and getting it just right takes a ton of time and energy. It’s one of the more fun parts of creating your own business, but it’s not necessary in the beginning.

In most cases, your business or site will do just fine without a professional logo. Simply have the title in text format, instead of logo artwork. As long as your business name or offering is memorable, customers will remember you.

But If You Want a Logo Anyway…

Here’s how to get a professional logo of a company designed for under $50.

Most people (especially those that aren’t tech savvy) will simply Google “logo designer near me” or “graphic designer in [insert local area]”. Those are effective ways to find a professional graphic designer, but you will have less knowledge and price control.

If you want a logo designed quickly and affordably, go to Fiverr.com.

Designing a Logo Through Fiverr

Fiverr is a job bidding site where freelance workers in every field imaginable offer their services for $5 and up. You can search “logo design” or something more specific like “minimalist logo”, “hand-drawn logo” and find hundreds of designers with prices ranging from $5 to $500.

A few pro tips before hiring a designer on Fiverr:

  • Make sure they have plenty of reviews

  • Find out if they speak English (or whichever language you speak)

  • Look through their portfolio to ensure you like their style

  • Message them questions before hiring, especially if you have really specific needs

  • Have extremely specific details and LOGO EXAMPLES ready before hiring them

  • Make sure they offer at least 1-2 revisions in their price

The Logo Design Process

If you follow the above tips, it’s likely your logo design process will go very smoothly! You can have a professional logo in 1-5 days, depending on what timeline the designer offers in each price category.

Once you get the first draft, don’t be shy about asking for revisions. The more details the better, as it makes the designers job easier. If the logo still isn’t right after the included rounds of revisions, you can always add another revision for an additional price.

Good luck designing your logo! Remember to be patient and not get too hung up on one idea—you can always have another logo designed later on.
